Winning my an writing contest.

So I had my first american interview for an award that I won though I didn't enter it because I don't really do short stories I wrote one but didn't submit it. Demi and takeshi thought it would be a good idea that they fix my mess ups and submit it. Which in the end I won it, but the story is what got me the interview not the award.

The story I wrote was called "Katie" it's about the girl that I am in love with. The story captures her life, and the way she retells it to me. I wrote it just as a remembrance to her I never thought about it being a contest entry I would have wrote about something else like I don't something else. Yet they fixed that up (I really need to change my passwords to everything it's literally the same for everything.).

So an interview for their podcast which I was like ummm wow why me. So during the interview one question that caught me off guard was this:

If you knew a woman existed like this why didn't you get her help or save her it seems like she really needed help?

My answer is as follows:

What makes you think I never did, what makes you think that I am not trying to save her. How can you not want to save her. (I showed them a picture) guys and women see her body and part of her mind. She tries to pretend that she is ok, like in the story "she wears a mask to hide herself away". She wants to be like the crowd because that's how her family wanted her to be. Yet I see past that I see a bright future in her. Will I save her of course I will. Will I always save her yea I will, I mean that's why I am in her life.

Then they asked me about, other things in my life like what do I do outside of this and what is it that I want to do. I told them I like to travel a lot and design, we briefly talked about my trip to Italy for the new year and about me playing the guitar there which I described as nostalgic something you dont do very often and sometimes you cant ever get over, I mean one moment your on your couch playing the next thing you know your playing peace sign at a cafe in front of some people, then your listening to poetry written by locals.

Though I was glad to win I thought it was a little much for me. I mean I felt like I cheated because I didn't know what to do or what to say. All i could say it is based on a real person and it is based on true events.
